추석 연휴기간 가족여행으로 실내 액티비티를 찾아 강릉 원더스카이를 다녀온 이야기를 해보려고 합니다. 추석을 맞아 대가족이 이동한 용평 여행은 연휴기간 내내 내리는 비로 인해 무엇을 할 수 없었습니다. 수영장은 여름에 지겹게 다녀와서 No였습니다. .
원더스카이를 찾은 이유?
일단 비가 계속 왔다는 사실, 그리고 수영장은 실제 비가 연휴기간 내내내리다보니 기온이 떨어져서 20도 초반으로 우리가 묵었던 알펜시아 숙소의 오션 700 워터파크는 넘 추워서 이용하기 어려운 상황이었습니다. 초등학생 아이들은 심심해하고, 무엇인가 놀거리를 찾아야 했기에 알펜시아 가까운 강릉의 액티비티를 검색해보았습니다. 강릉에서 아이들이 즐겁게 할 수 있는 액티비티는 아래와 같았습니다. 키즈까페는 초등학생 저학년과 고학년이 섞여있다보니 반응이 별로여서 정리한 자료들입니다.

- 강릉 런닝맨
- 강릉 원더스카이
- 강릉 하늘그네 경포터
위에 장소들을 찾아 가능한 곳을 찾았지만 강릉 런닝맨은 우선적으로 제외되었습니다. 모든 아이들이 1번씩은 가본 곳이었고, 생각보다 재미는 없다는 의견이었습니다. 다음은 날씨로 인해서 선정되지 못한 아라나비 바다하늘자전거, 강릉 하늘그네 경포터입니다. 이 두 장소는 비가 너무 많이 내리다보니 야외 장소인 사유로 제외되었습니다.
원더스카이의 장점?
원더스카이를 검색하고 모두 동의하고 찾기 했지만 가족들이 다 수도권 거주자이다보니 스포츠몬스터, 챔피언 1250 등 유사한 익스트림 장소들에 대한 경험이 있어서 생각보다 재미있지 않겠지하는 생각이 있었습니다. 하지만 방문 후 생각은 180도 바뀌었습니다. 장점은 아래와 같았습니다.
- 저렴한 가격입니다. 여기서 저렴한 기준은 스몹 즉 스포츠몬스터는 아이들이나 어른들이 이용하지 않더라도 이용요금을 결제해서 들어가야하지만 원더스카이의 경우 이용하는 아이들만 사용료를 내고, 어른들은 입장료만 지출하고 방문할 수 있습니다.
- 넓은 주차장입니다. 야외 주차장이긴 하나 넓은 주차장을 가지고 있어서 주차 후 방문하기 좋습니다.
- 관관 편의성입니다. 강릉 강문해변 인근으로 방문 후 인근에서 2차로 식사나 커피를 마시기 매우 좋습니다. 앞에서 이야기한 런닝맨 강릉점도 인근에 위치하고 있습니다.
- 익스트림 스포츠의 밀집도입니다. 실제 건물크기는 크지 않지만 신나고 아이들과 어른들이 모두 놀만한 시설을 몰아두어서 이용이 좋습니다. 수도권 놀이시설마다 사람도 적어서 매우 원활하게 이용할 수 있습니다.
- 어른들이 쉴 수 있는 5층 쉼터입니다. 1층에서 커피 등 음료를 판매하고 최상위 층에서 아래를 보며 아이들을 살펴볼 수 있습니다.
원더스카이의 놀이시설은?
놀이 시설은 120cm 이하인 어린아이들의 키즈카페 놀이시설(1~2층)과 120cm 이상의 초등학생 및 그 이상 중고등학생, 성인들을 위한 시설(3~5층)로 구분되어 있습니다.
어른도 스릴을 즐길 수 있는 짚잭, 다양한 종류의 클라이밍, 스피드탭탭, 스카이워크, 빅슬라이드 등 크지 않은 장소지만 곳곳에 스릴있는 시설로 꽉 채우고 있습니다.
